On a trophy buffalo hunt at our ranch you will arrive in the afternoon at the ranch to show you around and have supper in the evening. For the trophy buffalo hunts the food and lodging is all included. You will be staying in log cabin bed and breakfast which is only a couple years old.
Then on the following morning you will come back out to the ranch for breakfast before we go out on the trophy buffalo hunt. The way we do our hunts is that we go out on 4-wheelers to hunt the buffalo. The reason for this is because after you shoot the buffalo we have to get the others away from the one that is shot. When the other buffalo smell blood they get mean so thats why we try to get them away from the one thats down. Once the rest of them are away we take pictures of the trophy then we go get a tractor and loader to lift the buffalo up which weigh 1500# to 2000# so we can get them gutted. When we bring the buffalo back to the place we will skin, quarter and put the him in the cooler. Then we cape the head if the hunter wants that done.
The next day we cut up the meat with the hunters help or they can take the buffalo back in quarters. on a big trophy buffalo bull you will get around 600# of meat depending on where it was shot. The exciting part of buffalo hunts are how hard it is to get the buffalo down and killed along with keeping the others away.

The way that we do our hunts are that we walk and stalk the bull elk with either a bow, rifle or muzzleloader. A guide is with the hunter or hunters during the hunt. Its the guides job to tell the hunter what the animal is going to score close too and cost. When hunting at our place we will have at least 50 bulls to pick from.During this time of the year (which is Sept and Oct) that is the rut so the bulls are bugling and fighting which makes it alot of fun, exciting and and a rush. The hunting area is covered with cedar and oaks trees over rolling hills and canyons along with lakes in it.
After the bull is killed we take the pics of the trophy. Then the guide guts the bull before we winch it up on a trailer which is pulled by a 4-wheeler. We bring the bull back to the ranch to wash, skin and cape the animal before we quarter it up to put it in the walk in cooler. If the hunter wants us to cape the head we can at an extra cost. The other option that we have is that we can cut and wrap the meat with the hunters help at an extra charge also or they can take the quarters back and do it themselves. we can do one hunter at a time or we have had as many as 6 hunters in one party at a time. we only take one party of hunters at a time.
Exotic Sheep and Fallow deer
We have many different species of exotic sheep which are Corcians, Muflons, Black Hawiiain, Texas Doll, Corcian-Bighorn Cross and Alaska Doll-Bighorn Cross sheep along with the fallow deer. We spot and stalk hunts in cedar and oak trees over rolling hills and canyons. These are one day hunts which include field dressing and a lunch in the field. We will do processing for another $50. Lodging is available at additional charge.
